Important Playoff Seeding Information

Due to the length of our season and competitive nature of our league, only four teams will make the  Roundball Playoffs.

For this reason there are a few seeding rules to be aware of:

FIRSTLY
At the end of the regular season if two teams are tied for the fourth place position, we will look at which team won against the other during regular season play. This winning team will therefore take the fourth place position and make it into the Roundball Playoffs.

SECONDLY
If a rare seeding circumstance takes place, whereby teams are tied for the fourth and final position and they have played each other twice in the regular season and both had gained a victory. We will then calculate the point differences of all games played by the teams throughout the  regular season. The team with the lowest total accumulated point differential will advance into the Roundball Playoffs.

To conclude..EVERY GAME COUNTS! so play hard.

Feel free to contact our staff if any of these Roundball Seeding Rules are unclear.

The Battle Continues...

Double Overtime Thriller

Game one of week 3 started with a bang as A Couple Dudes beat their Roundball rival's the Pinetree Blazers in a thrilling double overtime game. In the last seconds of the second overtime last year's season MVP Sam Zhang hit a buzzer beating 3 pointer to win the game for his team. Congrats and thanks to both teams on an amazing game as well as the incredible show of respect and sportsmanship for each other's squads. This was by far the most exciting Roundball Men's regular season game we have ever seen.  It was a pleasure to be a part of.

Important Roundball Rules To Consider

As many of you know our games have always had the tendency to come down to close and competitive last second battles to determine the winning team. For this reason here are a few important Roundball Rules to consider when the clock ticks down to these intense moments:

24 Second Shot Clock

A 24 second Shot Clock is in effect in the last 5 minutes of the game if the score is within a 10 point margin. If the defending team fouls the team with possession when the shot clock is anywhere below 14 seconds, then the shot clock will be reset back to 14 seconds. This is important to recognize when games are close and teams begin to draw more fouls.

Time Outs

During the course of the Regular Season a team is only allowed to use Two time outs throughout the entire course of the game. You may use your time outs whenever you choose, however use them wisely.
During the course of the Playoffs a team becomes allowed to use Three time outs throughout the entire course of the game. Again ensure that they are used wisely.

Foul Limits

It is the team's responsibility to be aware of how many team fouls they have committed through communication with the scorers table. On the 6th team foul of each half, a team is in the penalty which results in free throws for the opposing team. Likewise on an individual players 6th personal foul, he is ejected from the game.

Last Second Game Winners

If a last second shot takes place and in fact goes in the basket, The referee has the option to FIRST communicate with the time keeper at the scorers table to determine if In Fact the ball was out of the players hands before the buzzer sounded. He can then make the final decision based on his communication with the Time Keeper.
