Roundball Basketball Week 8 Mixtape

2011 Playoffs

ROUNDBALL PLAYOFF TIME!
playoff night - friday february 4th

*GAME ONE @ 7:00 pm   All City Chess Club vs White Sneakers
All City Chess Club look to continue to do what they do best... And that of course is to win games.  Its expected that Center Aran Hare will be looking to dominate this game as he will be coming off a Roundball men's season high record of 41 points in one game. However, Roundball is known for BIG upsets in its playoff games. Let's not forget that on 2 other season occurances the top seeded team has been knocked out some how by the last seeded team on this very playoff night. We expect the White Sneaker's leading guard Brian Ng to come out ready to put it all on the line, leading his team on the score board and fiercely with his strong
emotion on the court. It all comes down to this one! win or go home.
*GAME TWO @ 8:00 pm   Wildcats vs Strictly Business*
The newly formed Wildcats are one of the most well energized teams to play in the Roundball program. They know how to play with each other because they have played together for a long time on the street courts of Richmond. Having said that, I am certain team Strictly Business will come out on fire on this night. Guard Adrian Sattar led his team in a losing effort last game, and was able to drop an outstanding 32 points on the top team in the league. His performance was incredible to watch and if their big man Jerome shows up then its going to definitely be the game of the night. Expect it to be a close one!!!

January 9th - News

Roundball News and Future League Opportunities
This week was the return of Roundball Basketball into the 2011 year. Roundball will continue to constantly innovate and add more features and multimedia to all our leagues across BC.
2010 was the beginning of a Roundball Blogspot where statistics and articles on teams and players have been posted on a consistent basis.  It was also the year whereby Roundball broke into the men's league division by successfully establishing men's programs in Surrey and in Richmond.  With the addition of our youth and men's programs, this year Roundball will be adding short clips of highlight mixtapes that will be posted on both our blogspot page and youtube. We hope that this not only attracts more visitors to our sites but also increases the showmanship on the court by all players. Filming will now take place every so often so we hope you enjoy this new feature!
Lastly, Roundball is in the midst of planning an outdoor streetball men's league for the city of Richmond this summer 2011. This league will be set to start in June and will be the first outdoor league ever started in Richmond BC.  The league will be refereed and all regular Roundball rules and regulations will apply. The only difference ofcourse will be that games will take place outdoors. Because we are still in the planning stages, we would love to know what our current and future players think about this potential Roundball program. The league will most likely take place outdoors at either Thompson Community Center or Southarm Community Center. Please feel free to leave your opinion about the outdoor league by voting on our newly posted poll.

Thanks and Keep Ballin,
Roundball.
