Roundball Game Recap - Week of July 20th

A Couple Dudes Defeat TML
60 - 54

In the beginning of the game TML's Karmal exploded for 6 quick points to lead all players in points within the first 10 minutes of the game. His team led midway through the first by a score of 19 - 13, however things were soon to change as the game progressed. With four minutes left in the half  the outside shooting of Sam Zhang and inside play of Mark Williams began to bring their squad back to where they belonged on the scoreboard. Sam Zhang ended the half with a buzzer beating 3 pointer that tied the game at 30 - 30 at halftime.

Strong play by forward Gurminder kept team TML in the game in the second half. He was able to hit two crucial back to back three pointers and lead all players in rebounds with 12, doing his best to keep his team in the ball game. However with 5 minutes left in the game A Couple Dudes began to do what they do best in the clutch moments of the game. Just as they stole a nail biter last week from the Pinetree Blazers, they began to pull away from TML in the last stretch of the game.

Player of the Game - Sam Zhang 28 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists

Space Jam Defeat Up In Smoke
74 - 60

Up and Smoke came out strong in the start of the game with their run and gun style leading the way with a 6 to zero margin, only to have Andrew Sors knock down two back to back threes to even out the game. From that point on last seasons MVP Sors continued to knock down shots putting team Up In Smoke in a hard place to regain confidence and make a push to catch up. Efforts from Pinder in the first half helped his team tie the game at 21 at one point, however that was the closest his team would come to beating the undefeated Space Jam squad. At the 5 minute mark team Space Jam's Brandon had the play of the game by stealing the ball at half court, running down the floor and fiercely dunking the ball on an Up In Smoke guard ( who's name we will keep confidential for dignity purposes)

The second half was dominated by Space Jam with great inside ball movement from Ryan, Chris and Andrew. Baskets began to come easy with each run down the court. Space Jam ended the game improving their record to an undefeated 4 - 0 We look forward to their match up on August 10th when they will play the Pinetree Blazers, which we expect to be their toughest game of the season.

Player of the Game - Andrew Sors 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists

ABC Defeat Pinetree Blazers
By Forfeit Victory

Midway through this game, a Pinetree Blazer player was hit with two technical fouls for inappropriate physical aggression and instigating a fight and was ejected from the game. This left the Pinetree Blazers with only 4 players active, therefore forcing them to forfeit their game for the night.
