Spring League Overview

Strictly Business

The Strictly Business squad is back to defend their Roundball title and have acquired 3 new additions to their team. Karmal, Miron and Milad have enhanced the team and were able to lead the squad to a quick two wins to begin the season. Adrian Sattar and Hassan Hamza remain on the team from last season and were able to still win games without the play of Jerome and Pavan in week 1. Expect this team to be even more incredible once star Jerome and and 3 point shooter Pavan return to the team.

Burnaby South

Burnaby South seem to be one of the top three teams in the league and a definite favourite to win the title this season. Their cast remains the same from the roundball Surrey season as all players know how to play very well as a team. The team has returned with the same core as usual and will be a great matchup against the Grizzly Bears which seem to be the same type of team with some challenging matchups between players. Notable players to watch from Burnaby South include the 3 point shooting of Raji, the post play of Karl and the point guard play of Taran.

Grizzly Bears

The Grizzly Bears did not make opening night but will be returning with the seasons MVP and Scoring leading center Aran Hare. Although he was not present in the final game against strictly Business, his presence will be for certain this season. His team will defend their best team record from last season, but the difference hopes to be that this season they will win it all. With strong play from both Aran and point guard Amrit this team will definitely end the season near the top.

The Elite

Another squad that did not show up during night 1 was team Elite from Surrey. They are led by guard Gurmeet Paur who has developed his own team with a few strong players of their own. Not much is known about how this team is set to perform, as they seem to be the wild card team this season. the follwing weeks will only tell how strong of a team they will be.

Those Guys

Those guys are led by Andy who has brought forth his own team from Cambie Secondary School. This team of young standouts are a relentless group of players that most definitely have talent as a team. Although they are the youngest Roundball team they will be a team to watch due to their run and gun style and their ability to play hard until the dying seconds of the game. This team is bound to improve throughout the course of the season.

Stompya

Richard Lu and Allan Berger are back to prove themselves from last season as they are still constructing their Stompya squad. Only five players were present for night #1 of Roundball but the team showed some promise with the play of guard Restie who is a quick release shooting guard who will be certain to put points on the board for his team. If Stompya is able to aquire a one or two more key peices they will be a team to watch.
